Virtual fax machines provide a way to send and receive faxes via an email address, removing the need to have a physical fax machine.  Virtual faxes can only be delivered to external fax numbers; any virtual faxes sent between two internal extensions will fail. At this time, international faxing is not supported.

Configuration Settings

To access the virtual fax machine configuration settings, click the Virtual Fax Machines tab and then click the virtual fax machine you would like to configure.

General Tab

Extension

Extension Number3 to 6-digit number that identifies the virtual fax machine and makes it dialable.
NameName by which the virtual fax machine is identified.
Omit From DirectoryPrevents the virtual fax machine from being listed in the default directory.

Email to Fax Access

Email to Fax Access CodeDisplays the access code to be included in the subject line of the virtual fax email. The access code is used to securely authenticate emails and identify the virtual fax machine. Click [Reset] to generate an access code.

Sending Options

Send as UserAssigns a user that will be identified with the sent virtual faxes.
External Caller IDAssigns a caller ID for sent virtual faxes.
Send Email to Fax Success MessagesEnables emails to be sent upon successful virtual fax delivery. Emails are always sent for failed transmissions. All notifications are sent to the email address used to send the virtual fax and come from noreply@onjive.com (make sure this address is not marked as SPAM or junk mail).

Receiving Options

Email DestinationDefines which email address will receive incoming faxes. You can only assign one email address to a virtual fax machine.

Receive Virtual Faxes

When someone sends a fax to a virtual fax machine it is first converted to a PDF and then emailed to you as an attachment. The incoming fax will come from noreply@onjive.com, so make sure this address is not marked as SPAM or junk mail. You can then download, open, and print the attachment.

Faxes can also be received by a line, ring group, or shared voicemail box when "Intercept Incoming Faxes" has been configured.
